Please donate for our rescues

Dear Supporters,

Medical rescues such as hit & run cases (make up 90% of our weekly cases), mange, maggot wounds, abandoned pets, tumors etc) are the SOSs we deal with. To keep the healing or abandoned kids in our center (which already has over 90+ rehabilitating rescues as of today), till they are healed or adopted, we need to constantly stay afloat over the funds for the below :

  • We are presently taking care of more than 90 animals under our care(dogs, pups and a few piggies) and urgently need food for them and the funds to clear off vet bills, medicine bills, path labs bills and to sustain our 90 + rescues
  • Our medical bills are humongous and keep increasing as the weeks go by with more injured cases.
  • Apart from the rescues at our farm, we are also doing feeding rounds for over 70 plus strays, in and around our locality - for which we always need a stock of surplus amount of rice and pedigree that can keep the streeties healthily fed too!
  • We need support to pay the rent of our center and the salaries to our 3 staff members who take care of our 90+ rescues 24x7 at the center.

TRUST

What does this word mean to you?

At Umeed - it is probably the heaviest one. When you visit our center - we have this painted on one of our walls - "Rescue is nod just a verb, it is a promise." (see below pic)

Well back in 2015 one of our ex staff members just wouldn't believe "not" is with a 't' ! Haha .
Leo (model in pic) is on his side too!

And this is essentially the promise - the trust that these injured and abandoned animals have given us - that they'll be saved from their agony, loved, fed and live a happily ever after without being hurt or abandoned ever again.

Everyone associated with Umeed in any way learns this as the first thing. And many times it is what can shatter our souls, our worlds when we are unable to live up to it - and the kid just leaves this world without much of those promises fulfilled.

Kiwi (top most picture) came into this world with that trust too. Like all our rescues do. In August of 2020, his world came crashing down in a flurry of confusion and hurt when he was just left to survive on the road in Gurgaon's sector 59, all of 2.5 years in age.
We are not questioning the human's psychological fall out that turns his/her conscience criminal and commit monstrosities such as -  murder, rape, steal, abuse, abandon. We have seen the "plenty good" that has been done to serve them justice in the name of "human rights".
We are questioning the humans who are part of the foundation and do not give the victims the justice they deserve and these criminals likewise the severe punishment. Sadly our so called cow worshiping Government neither has any laws that criminate the people who abandon the bovines and neither for the ones that abandon canines and felines.
And then we question ourselves, for in this field - as we say - our rescue is a promise - a promise to put in our 100% for them to have a healthier and happier life. This is the trust in their eyes, their scared fast beating hearts when they sit in our rescue car or van - that,
"maybe now the torture is over?"
"maybe now I'll be with better humans?"
"maybe now I'll get food? water? Some warmth or cool?"
"maybe now my bruises, this hanging tumor, these cuts and infections won't hurt as much?"
"maybe now I can finally take that leap of faith?"
"be free?"

Can Kiwi take that leap of faith? Can all our rescues do that?
We also question you, our dear supporters. As we rely on you the maximum, to at least help us share our causes, the strongest being #AdoptDontShop - our adoption appeals - adoption, food or medical support.
Can you help our dear boy Kiwi answer these questions?
He is the sweetest, gentlest and calmest Lab boy, 2.5 years of age. Please share this post or the ones on our instagram/facebook of him so that his adoption can get maximum reach to all the potential loving families out there.
If you're one of them and are 100% committed to always keeping Kiwi's and our trust together intact , please fill in the google form below -

Hi ! Welcome to our blog.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r-goYxECoM

Greetings from Umeed For Animals Foundation!

For those of you who don't know us, UMEED is a Rehabilitation Centre based in Gurgaon dedicated to helping animals in distress - such as those abandoned by owners, and/or ill treated and also strays. Our small one man team, maximum 2 in some cases - does its best to rescue injured and abandoned kids in the Umeed SOS van and try and rehabilitate them (provide them food, medicine & shelter) from their pitiful conditions.

So first things first - We are STRONGLY against ANY TYPE OF BREEDING & BREEDERS - which have not only given more rise to the demand for "high end" breeds but in the process not many people know or try and understand that the animals are kept in forced closures, starved and physically/mentally abused in all ways, then give birth to unhealthy/diseased off-springs - which in turn makes cruel people want to abandon them without a care in the world.

Covid-19 has brought on us a really tough lag, a seriously high rate of pet abandonment and we are still battling these demons on the field - rescues of injured strays, abandoned breeds - not to mention the mass hysteria that had/has been created regarding the false and ridiculous information of Coronavirus being spread by animals which is making people ruthlessly discard them as if they're nothing but old household items. And we don't even want to start off with how less is cared of our strays, whom people usually hold in such low regard, compared to breeds.

Anyways this is not where we wish to go off on a rant about our anger towards how these beautiful animals are mistreated. This is where we wish to reach out to you to help us in these absolute testing times with almost zero help on or off the field. We have been grateful to the support of our kind neighborhood veterinarian doctor and the kind donations of our dear supporters - who understand our story and wish to do something good for the animals we're taking care of.

But alas, there are struggles that will always keep our neck in the water.

Such as:

We urgently need to have our breeds adopted in super dedicated & loving families.

Yes we say breeds. Because unlike indies, they have a super hard time at adapting at a rehab center/shelter environment. They fall sick easily as they are more susceptible to infections and diseases of other healing kids and sometimes have a hard time getting along with other rescues. Shelters though kept them fed are in no way a healthy environment as compared to the focused loving attention of a warm family home. So when you see us post an adoption appeal, take a moment to think of this and do your bit in finding them a loving family - spread the word as much you can - share the post as much as possible on as many platforms as possible.

The struggles are endless. But we hope you have a fair idea of our situation and how we cannot afford to let these struggles take us down. There is no other way but to help these animals as much as we can - our biggest motivation is seeing them healthy, happy and adopted! Wouldn't it be yours too? :')

But we cannot do this alone, it is our dream to have a worldwide family of supporters. You can do your bit by supporting our cause by sharing our social media posts, adoption appeals, donating food and funds for medical treatments and also choosing to volunteer! (Send in your details to umeedforanimals@gmail.com)

What better time than in the era of #WorkFromHome to contribute to the environment in the best way you can? We all need that much needed push from our daily slug of struggles and demotivation. Seeing the plight of animals in our country improve is our biggest. So let's work on it together.

Please help us tell the world our story so that more like minded humans come come join our cause!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Love and light,

The Umeed Team
